Registration for Dietitians Transferring Within Canada

General Registration
In Canada, the Canadian Free Trade Agreement includes provisions to ensure that regulated professionals can easily move from one province to another without having to undergo further assessment of their education and training (Ontario). Any applicant who is currently registered in good standing with another Canadian Dietetic Regulator is eligible to apply for registration on the equivalent register with the College of Dietitians of PEI.

To be eligible for registration through labour mobility without further assessment, the applicant must:
  • Be currently registered in good standing in an active practice category with a provincial dietetic regulator.
  • Be of good character.
  • Have registration without conditions, restrictions or limitations.

If you are a dietitian who is currently registered in another Canadian province and want to become registered please review the following documents:

Do not resign from the dietetic regulatory body where you are currently licensed until you have received notification from College of Dietitians of Prince Edward Island that you are registered.  Please allow a minimum of 7-10 days for the paperwork to be completed.
